Quality Systems Engineer

About the Role:
As a Quality Systems Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing the company's Integrated Management System. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all products and processes meet rigorous industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and EN 1090, while also aligning with customer expectations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives, conduct internal audits, and implement corrective actions where necessary. Your work will be crucial in upholding the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IMS Management: Oversee the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the Integrated Management System to ensure full compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. You will be responsible for updating departmental procedures and integrating best practices.
2. Internal Audits: Conduct thorough internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the IMS, identify potential areas for improvement, and ensure the prompt resolution of any non-conformities.
3. Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to verify that all incoming materials meet the necessary quality standards, and maintain the Approved Supplier List to ensure consistent supplier performance.
4. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead efforts to enhance production processes through the application of quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA.
5. Training and Development: Provide guidance and training on quality-related matters to various teams, ensuring the effective use of quality tools and techniques across the organization.
6. Reporting: Prepare and present detailed quality performance reports to senior management, offering insights into key metrics, trends, and areas requiring attention.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. A relevant degree or substantial experience in quality management or a related field.
2. A solid understanding of Quality Management Systems and industry standards.
3. Proven experience with internal auditing and quality improvement tools like Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and FMEA.
4. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
5. Proficient in computer applications and capable of handling multiple responsibilities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
2. Experience in the metal industries, particularly in surface treatment
3. Project management expertise
