What the Job Involves Managing and motivating a Planning Enforcement team linked with specific Council projects or programs, ensuring compliance with performance targets. Making decisions regarding planning enforcement matters under delegated powers for various development types, conservation areas, green belts, etc. Leading the team to maintain, regenerate and improve the Borough’s environment through planning policy implementation. Directing a team to deliver efficient, effective, and value-for-money services, supporting the Pollution Control and Planning Enforcement Action Plan. Assessing planning issues, including conducting site visits, consultations, negotiations, and preparing reports. Providing direction, training, and management to a team, while ensuring accountability of all performance-related issues. Advising enforcement officers on regularizing breaches within deadlines. Acting as lead officer with multi-agency partners to address environmental and planning issues, ensuring project delivery to agreed deadlines. Providing expertise and consultation for land use planning, incorporating views in the assessment process. Monitoring compliance with various statutory notices and producing witness statements for legal proceedings. Handling planning enforcement appeals and serving as an expert witness at public inquiries, where expertise in complex planning issues is required. Organizing and monitoring workload management in adherence to procedural and timescale agreements. Staying updated on planning practice legislation, policies, and trends. Support management in formal correspondences related to planning enforcement issues. ```
