We are recruiting a HR Manager for a well-established manufacturing company with a solid and loyal workforce. They are a close knit team and operate very much like a family. In this role as HR Manager, you’ll be the glue that holds things together. It is very generalist in nature, and you’ll cover the whole spectrum of HR from recruitment, training, onboarding, absence management and ER etc. The critical piece will be the management of the payroll. You’ll collect data from the managers and run it through their bespoke system to check for anomalies and exceptions before processing it for timely payments. The business relies heavily on excel to do this and as such, you’ll need to be confident with your spreadsheet skills. You have a highly competent HR administrator supporting you and he is meticulous in his approach, delivering a high level of accuracy. If you enjoy training and development, that is an area that largely untapped in recent years and they are embarking on a big project you’ll be part of. You could also bring new ideas around e-learning etc to the table. There is lots of progress to be made updating policies and procedures and adopting systems to speed up internal processes and they are about to move away from SAP to another system which will be another challenging project. Reporting and pulling together KPI information for wider business use, is also part and parcel of the role and it helps if you have that natural curiosity to understand every inch of the factory. To be successful in this role you will need to be very people focused with strong analytical skills. From the moment you step inside, the culture is tangible. It is a warm, friendly business where people like to stay. Your role is to get the very best out of them and help develop the management team so they can overachieve. Salary for this role is circa £50k-£55k along with company benefits including an enhanced pension scheme.
