Job Advertisement: Senior Site Engineer Location: Durham Start Date: February 2025 Salary: £(Apply online only) per day Sector: Civil Engineering & Groundworks - Main Contractor About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a leading Main Contractor on a key civil engineering project in the Durham. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of groundworks, earthworks, and concrete slab installations, maintaining high-quality standards and site efficiency. Key Responsibilities: ✔ Oversee civil engineering and ground improvement works, including dynamic compaction. ✔ Manage and monitor earthworks, including cut & fill and ground remediation. ✔ Ensure accurate setting out and construction of internal and external concrete slabs. ✔ Implement and maintain QA procedures, including digital recording, filing, and reporting. ✔ Use AutoCAD for setting out and design interpretation (experience in LSS or Civil 3D is advantageous). ✔ Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and site managers to ensure programme adherence and quality control. Candidate Requirements: Experience working for a Main Contractor on civil engineering projects. Strong background in ground improvement techniques (preferably dynamic compaction). Proven expertise in earthworks, ground remediation, and cut & fill operations. Extensive experience in the installation of internal and external concrete slabs. Strong QA and documentation management skills, preferably using a digital platform. Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with LSS or Civil 3D would be a plus). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to site challenges.
