Arbuthnot Latham is looking for an Events Assistant to help support our Events & Partnerships Manager, to implement our marketing strategy. The ideal candidate will be a friendly and pro-active all-rounder with meticulous attention to detail. They will have a passion for event planning, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to take ownership of smaller events, while supporting larger projects. Additionally, they must ensure to place the interests of customers at the centre of all activities, and act in a way that is consistent with achieving good outcomes for consumers and to comply with the FCA and PRA's Conduct Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management
* Take full ownership of smaller events (up to 30 attendees), managing all aspects from initial planning to onsite execution.
* Assist senior team members on larger-scale events.
Delegate Management:
* Manage logistics, build and distribute event invites, and oversee RSVPs.
* Communicate effectively with attendees to ensure a seamless experience.
Event Planning Documents:
* Create detailed running orders and event sheets to ensure smooth operations.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to finalize event plans.
Digital Tools & Technology:
* Utilize Excel confidently, including the use of formulas for budgeting, attendee tracking, and reporting.
* Demonstrate an understanding of digital platforms, including Salesforce and other event management tools.
* Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of services.
* Negotiate contracts and oversee invoicing processes to maintain budget integrity.
Budgeting and Reporting:
* Support budget management for events, including processing invoices and tracking expenses.
* Provide post-event reports, including attendee feedback and financial summaries.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with internal teams to align event goals with business objectives.
* Represent the company confidently during client and supplier interactions.
Key Interfaces:
* Working with all key stakeholders across Arbuthnot Latham and Arbuthnot Banking Group including Functional Heads and relevant reports.
* Working in partnership with external suppliers. Working as a key person to support the marketing team.
Person Specification
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
* Experience in event management or a related field.
* Proven experience of owning and delivering smaller events (up to 30 attendees).
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of formulas.
* Strong digital understanding and familiarity with event tech tools.
* Basic knowledge of Salesforce (or a willingness to learn).
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Degree educated is desired
