CivTech is part of Scottish Government’s Digital Directorate and is the world’s first and leading Government-run tech accelerator for digital public services. The CivTech Innovation Flow combines proven private sector methodologies including Agile delivery, challenge competitions, and accelerators, adapting them for the public sector. As an Innovation Delivery Manager you will lead on delivering genuine technology innovation that has the potential to revolutionise public services. You will work across a range of Challenges – that can cover anything from growing more trees to improving menopause care pathways to improving digital public services. You will develop new Challenges, discover and select companies to build solutions to the Challenges, manage contracts and report on progress, and manage collaborative relationships across the public and private sectors. Responsibilities Practice and foster a culture of Innovation and collaboration across the Public and Private sectors in Scotland. Apply creative thinking to develop Challenges, solve problems and deliver innovative solutions. Support teams in managing and visualizing outcomes effectively. Manage the needs and expectations of a range of internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. Negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers and public sector partners. Manage the innovation product lifecycle through the stages of the CivTech process. Facilitate delivery flow and manage pace and tempo. Address internal and external risks, issues, blockers, and dependencies proactively. Guide public sector teams in implementing new products and processes Represent CivTech at a range of internal and external workshops and events. Experience and ability to proactively drive forward change and innovation and apply a creative problem solving mindset. Demonstrable experience of engaging with, and managing the differing demands, requirements and working practices of a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior officials, customers and suppliers. We offer a range of flexible and hybrid working options depending on the needs of the role. If you have specific questions about the role you are applying for, please contact us. The primary base for this role will be in Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, however a hybrid work approach is in place which involves on average 2-3 days per month at Victoria Quay and other Edinburgh locations. There may also be a requirement to travel to other locations on an ad hoc basis depending on programme and team needs. DDaT Supplement This post is part of the Scottish Government Digital, Data and Technology (DDAT) profession, as a member of the profession you will join the professional development system. This post currently attracts a £5,000 annual DDAT pay supplement, applicable after a 3 month competency qualifying period. The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role. Pay supplements are reviewed regularly and there is one currently underway. Changes will be communicated when the review is concluded.
