NHS Tayside has a new and exciting vacancy for a driven Digital Systems Support Specialist, this post will assist the existing team across several technology stacks including a large Firewall estate and pro-active Operations Management. This role will be key to delivering robust Network Services to the Patients and Staff of NHS Tayside. What the Job entails: The job entails delivering all aspects of Network Services across NHS Tayside’s sites and remote workers, including, but not exclusively, the following: - LAN, WAN, DNS, VPN, SD-WAN, Remote Access, Network Cyber Security, Firewalls, Web Filtering, IDS/IPS, WiFi, routing and Network Management Platforms including Solarwinds and Cisco Enterprise Management platforms. The postholder will be responsible for implementing new technologies / solutions as well as operating and monitoring existing implementations and future roadmaps, including capacity planning, this will involve understanding complex Firewall management and defining key Network metrics for monitoring and reporting on. The postholder may also act as 3 rd line support for our busy Business as Usual function handling incident, request and problem functions whilst also being a stakeholder in any service impacting Major incidents. The postholder will have a broad understanding of ITIL principles and excellent technical and non-technical verbal communication skills. This post also has line management responsibility so must be familiar with managing technical teams. This role will include the above but is not restricted to these responsibilities. This is a permanent, full-time post (37 hrs per week) that is predominantly Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00 am and 5.00 pm but this can change depending on service need so flexibility is required, you will also be expected to take part in a weekend on-call rota covering 9 – 5 Saturday and Sunday.
