Senior Engineering Specialist | Medical Devices, BioTech & Robotics
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer – Electrical Bias to join a leading organisation specialising in advanced propulsion and power systems.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in PLC systems and/or working with electrical schematics, alongside expertise in commissioning, maintaining, and repairing cutting-edge systems. You’ll support customers across marine and land-based sectors, ensuring their systems run smoothly.
Responsibilities
1. Commission, service, and repair advanced propulsion and power systems.
2. Work with PLC systems and interpret electrical schematics to diagnose and resolve issues.
3. Provide on-call emergency support as part of a rota.
4. Compile detailed technical reports and identify root causes of system issues.
5. Deliver hands-on customer training and share knowledge with colleagues.
6. Travel regularly within the UK & ROI, with occasional overseas deployments.
Qualifications
1. Qualifications in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Experience with PLC systems and electrical schematics is highly desirable.
3. Proficiency in diagnostics and programming (training provided for business IT systems).
4. Knowledge of health and safety best practices.
5. Technical experience in propulsion/power systems (marine expertise preferred).
6. A proactive, customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
