As a Payroll Team Lead, you will provide a professional and responsive Payroll service to customers both internally and externally by adhering to defined service level agreements and statutory requirements, ensuring accurate and on time payments. You will coach, develop and support the Analysts, in line with appropriate policies and procedures. Implementing process improvements and fostering a collaborative environment to improve payroll operations. Key responsibilities include supervising and leading the payroll team, providing guidance, training, and support. You will delegate tasks effectively to ensure all payroll processes are completed accurately and on time. Ensure all BACS transmissions are completed in accordance with the payroll schedule and the procedure. Support Payroll Manager with activities and resource planning. Responsible for ensuring the provision of data to external providers including third parties, issuing authority's and HMRC. Assisting with balancing and reconciliation of payrolls and acting as a final sign off before issuing to the customer. Monitors the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are completed and updated accordingly. Support Analysts with complex queries and manual calculations. To act as an escalation point for customers. Manages behavioural and performance issues and escalates if necessary. Evaluate current payroll processes and identify areas for improvement and feeding into the overall automation and efficiency program. Support with the implementation of new procedures, processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy ensuring the team are utilising and adopting change. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed. Communicates and works effectively across the department and MHR. Monitors team resourcing to ensure Service Levels are met. Responds to customers in a timely and effective manner. Monitors the quality of service and immediately implements actions to resolve any service issues. Keeps up to date with software functionality. A respect for confidentiality. Management responsibilities include regularly reviewing team and individual's performance. Identification of training needs and creation of personal development plans. Actively participates in the recruitment, selection and retention process. Conducts and documents check ins and performance reviews. Takes appropriate HR action where performance does not meet acceptable standards. Actively manages absence levels and conducts RTW interviews. Professional responsibilities include adhering to the values and missions' statement of Managed Services and reinforces the message with their reporting lines. Ensure issues are escalated in an appropriate and timely manner. Respond to customer communications as required. Monitor and ensure adequate progression on time-critical issues.
