Job Overview
Alder Community High School has a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our Attendance Team. The core purpose of the role is to provide a professional, efficient and effective attendance service across the school. We are increasing the capacity of the existing team and looking to appoint a second Education Welfare Officer who is dedicated, hardworking and committed to raising standards and improving attendance. This will be in accordance with the school’s agreed policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation maintaining confidentiality and high professional standards at all times.
The successful candidate must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people, their parents/carers and school staff. Your enthusiasm and proactive ‘can do’ attitude will be amongst your strengths. This is a permanent appointment which is subject to a 12-month probationary period.
The position is being offered on either term time only or term time plus (to be discussed at interview).
The normal hours of work are 36 hours per week: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm and Friday, 8:00am to 3:45pm. This includes a 45-minute unpaid break.
