We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic lead nurse colposcopist to join our multi disciplinary team to cover maternity leave. You will need to be a certified colposcopist with the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSSCP). We are excited to offer a band 8a position in this fast-paced and dynamic department.You will work autonomously within asupportive clinical environment with opportunities for service development and improvements.
As a qualified practitioner, you must be able to demonstrate safe clinical skills and decision-making and sound clinical expertise and knowledge when working with gynaecology patients. The post holder will support the leadership team to meet the needs of the service users, balance service provisions and contribute to service improvements within an environment undergoing change and service development. You will need drive and determination, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a passion and vision that motivates others.
The successful applicant will need to plane and manage complete clinical episodes of care, working in partnership with others, delegating and referring as appropriate, to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and carers.
You will need to lead the colposcopy demand and capacity modelling and business planning for the serviceworking in partnership with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager to inform business planning and service planning with the relevant commissioning bodies.

• Lead nurse for the Colposcopy service to work closely with the Lead Consultant to develop colposcopy services across UHD.
• To be the designated Cervical Screening Provider Lead (CSPL) for the organisation. Responsible for ensuring that the service is aligned to National Standards and Protocols.
• Take the lead for Colposcopy demand and capacity modelling and business planning for the service including the development of business cases and working in partnership with the General Manager and Deputy General Manager to inform business planning and service planning with the relevant commissioning bodies.
• To act as a source of expertise and knowledge for patients, carers and health professionals as well as other agencies involved in provision of the colposcopy service.
• To work autonomously, using advanced knowledge and skills, underpinned by theory and experience, to assess patient caseload, across a broad range of complex patient conditions.
• The post holder will be a certified Colposcopist with the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSSCP).
• To plan and manage complete clinical episodes of care, working in partnership with others, delegating and referring as appropriate, to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and carers.
• Take responsibility for providing care and treatment in line with current evidence base, at an advanced clinical practice level, demonstrating the ability to make critical judgements and problem-solving, regarding patient pathways, on a daily basis, for a distinct caseload of patients.
