We are recruiting a Full-time, permanent Project Worker to join our short-term supported accommodation scheme at Marsh House in Merthyr Tydfil. The service provides 22 units of supported accommodation, staffed 24 hours for homeless people aged over 18.

Where does the role fit in?
The purpose of this service is to support service users to develop independent living skills in the management of a household, their own finances and working towards establishing themselves in community services, whilst being supported with staff on site. This will be seen as a step-up approach to more independent living in their own accommodation, limiting the need for further support and preventing any escalation of needs.

Day to Day Duties:
As a Project Worker you will lead each shift by managing the scheme and overseeing the Scheme Support Officers.
Your role would be hands on in working collaboratively with the people we support to reach their goals and help them to positively move on into their own tenancy. This is a fun and unique role where you could be part of the workshops and fun activities that take place. You also get to feel the rewards of seeing someone you have supported, positively move on into their own tenancy and achieve their goals.
Your day will consist of:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
Liaising with external agencies
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
Building community links and establishing partnerships that benefit our customers
Our motivation is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental and manage disputes or conflicts appropriately.

Competitive salary of £25,486.00
Our service is 24/7 and this is a day and nights post based on a rolling rota. Which would involve day shifts and weekends, there may be an occasional requirement to cover wakeful nights.
It is essential for the successful candidate to have a full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
An enhanced DBS check is required for the role, which we will pay for
