An exciting opportunity has arisen for anexperienced, highly motivated candidate to join the West Yorkshire andHarrogate Cancer Alliance to support the Health Inequalities programme; workingwith a wide range of stakeholders including primary care, secondary care, andvoluntary sector to deliver timely presentation, early diagnosis, screening,primary care, and best practice timed pathway objectives. You will focus onreducing cancer-related health inequalities and will use data to demonstratepatient need, prioritise areas requiring support and measure impact, sharingthese across the Alliance and wider. Youwill provide support to Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to improve the quality oftheir services, and work towards achieving cancer-related objectives asdescribed in the contract ED DES and wider. You will also provide a vitalcommunications channel between primary care, secondary care, and the Alliancework programmes. You will havedemonstrable experience implementing evidence-based interventions.
Main duties of the job
Thecandidate will bridge the gap between National Cancer Programme requirementsand primary care, providing a crucial link between implementation and widerstrategy. You will provide a key communication channel between the CancerAlliance and primary care, facilitating the transfer of soft intelligence andidentification of need, whilst simultaneously creating potential for primarycare involvement in Alliance workstreams and ensuring that successfulprojects are promoted and shared across WY&H and wider. You will need towork flexibly to meet the needs of PCNs, agreeing several local objectivesand aligning work with the health improvement agenda and Core20PLUS5 initiativesto prevent more cancers. This will include a mix of office- and home-basedwork with frequent travel e.g., to visit PCNs and attend meetings. Thecandidate will build and support the management of complex relationshipsbetween individuals and organisations and respond appropriately tochallenges, seeking support and guidance as required.
