Our client is one of the fastest growing Private Equity firms in London currently. They now have 3 funds targeting small-mid sized companies and are one of the rare firms that exceeded their fund-raising target this year. Through growth, they are looking to hire a Fund Controller who will manage the outsourced accountants and partner heavily with the investment team. This role will report directly into the CFO and work within a team of 2 who operate on a very flat structure. Being such a lean team, this role will have end to end exposure across every element of the fund (reporting, portfolio monitoring, valuations etc). They outsource all reporting to their fund administrators (Cayman based) which frees up time to support with ongoing portfolio monitoring and analysis. On a periodic basis you shall be responsible for investor reporting (detailing fund performance and distributions), fund financial statements and fund audits. This will also cover the corporate accounting for the firm and will work with outsourced bookkeepers to then produce management accounts, budgets, and forecast. They are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA etc) with experience in a closed-ended fund accounting role. They are incredibly data driven, with a big focus on automation so an aptitude for systems is key. You will be required to build and manipulate investment/cashflow models, so it is vital to have excellent excel skills. Candidates must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable speaking to a range of internal and external stakeholders. They are looking to pay up to £110,000 plus bonus and carried interest (this will be in their most recent fund, so you won’t need to wait for another fund raise). The firm have a fantastic culture, generous benefits (including free lunch every day, and international trips) and have a highly collaborative/social team.
