Bookkeeping supervisor role within a historic accountancy practice based in Barnet, that have grown into a firm which delivers a wide range of services to clients throughout the UK, with expertise in the construction and property sectors

Bookkeeper Position Overview
1. Assisting with managing the deliverables of approximately 150 bookkeeping clients
2. Bookkeeping services for clients
3. Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
4. Preparing and submitting CIS Returns
5. Processing the annual CIS suffered reclaim for all clients who are not Gross Status.
6. Delegating work to our offshore team in India and reviewing their completed work.
7. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts/information with the objective of providing completed monthly management accounts to the Senior Managers for their review and meeting with the client.
Bookkeeper Position Requirements
8. Work experience - Previous work experience in accountancy firms is required
9. Industry experience - Previous work experience in the Construction and Property sectors would be beneficial
10. Software experience Xero - requiredSage - requiredQuickBooks - beneficialCCH - beneficial
11. Qualification status - ideally AAT qualified, but not a necessity
12. CIS experience - required
13. Payroll experience - beneficial
14. Management Accounts/Information - beneficial
Bookkeeper Position Remuneration
15. Salary expectations - circa £35k to £45k per annum, but this is negotiable depending on the quality of the candidate
16. Discretionary bonus
17. Annual leave - 30 days including bank holidays and 2 duvet days
18. Private Healthcare - provided by the company after probationary period has been successfully completed
19. Pension - employees pay a minimum of 5% and the company will pay 3%
20. Annual company trip - overnight stay at a European city. The company will pay for flights, hotels, meals, etc.
21. Reporting to the Head of the Business Services team and the Partners
22. Hours - 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm (with 1 hour for lunch) with flexitime
23. Probationary Period - 3 months from commencement date
24. Location of role - office based with flexibility to work from home regularly. Our office is in Barnet.
