Eridge Underwriting is a motor specialist Managing General Agent based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We generate over £70 million premium income with 60 Brokers throughout the UK. You have an opportunity to make a positive contribution for a successful business in a working environment which encourages responsibility and creativity. We are looking for a Motor Development Underwriter with at least 7 years’ relevant experience to join our Underwriting team, helping The Company to continue to grow profitably in a controlled and professional way. The Role Develop a strong understanding of our core insurance products: Private Car, Commercial Vehicle, Taxi and Motor Trade. Establishing positive working relations with our Brokers, identifying and helping to manage performance, audit findings, and general practices of our Broker panel. Regularly review and provide feedback on our Underwriting guidelines and acceptance criteria. Handling enquiries from our Broker partners, providing guidance on general risk acceptance, bespoke quotes, and renewals. Analyse performance of schemes, brokers and product segments. Assist with the development of colleagues within the team. Work with our Fraud Team to identify any fraud issues. About You: A person who enjoys working within a team and wants to make a positive difference with their own endeavours and in partnership with colleagues. Strong analytical skills; confidently handling and interpreting data. Excellent written and oral communication skills-confident in expressing your views. A n ability to be a decisive and considered decision maker. Ability to produce clear, concise and professional reports. The ability to build and manage relationships with brokers and other external partners. Good organisational skills with ability to work to deadlines independently.
