Job Summary
A new and exciting development opportunity has arisen within the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service in East BCUHB. The post is open to established Band 7 Physiotherapists and dynamic and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapists wishing to develop their knowledge and clinical leadership skills in a supportive environment.
If required, the successful applicant will be supported to progress to Band 7 on completion of competencies within an agreed timeframe.
Our friendly and supportive team delivers high-quality pulmonary rehabilitation that aims to optimise patient engagement and benefit in a variety of settings across Wrexham and Flintshire.
The successful candidate will work as part of the MDT to assess and manage complex patients using specialist clinical reasoning skills. They will have a flexible approach and undertake clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
A structured programme of clinical and managerial support has been developed for the post, this will include:
1. Time to shadow the well-established pulmonary rehab team and work towards completing competencies.
2. Dedicated time with the wider respiratory team including the consultant lead for the service, respiratory nurses and the oxygen assessment team.
3. Support to attend relevant postgraduate courses as well as in-house CPD opportunities in order to develop.
4. Managerial support from the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner (APP) and Team Leader and regular clinical supervision and support from the APP.
Main Duties of the Job
* Working collaboratively with the advanced practitioner to deliver a high-quality clinical service in the East Integrated Health Community.
* The assessment and management of complex patients. Developing and delivering individualised treatment programmes and working effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Providing clinical leadership and day-to-day management of the service including planning and coordinating service delivery and service evaluation once competencies are completed.
* Working collaboratively with the advanced practitioner and pulmonary rehabilitation leads across BCUHB to develop service improvement opportunities.
* Supporting the ongoing education and development of the team to ensure a high-quality, evidence-based service.
* Lead educator for student placements.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
