The Opportunity
At Leonardo we are recruiting for a DSE & Ergonomics Assessor to join our Team in Edinburgh. There will also be some travel required to our Newcastle site.
1. The job is very varied and a wide range of skills is expected. Importantly, people skills and good communication are necessary.
2. Provide help and support for employees completing the Cardinus risk assessment.
3. Support and guide on various DSE and Ergonomic issues.
4. Build relationships with key stakeholders across the sites, promoting the development of a positive culture and best practice.
5. Contribute to the implementation, monitoring and measurement of the DSE process
As the DSE & Ergonomics Assessor you will be required to
6. monitor the completion of the training and risk assessment packages for each location.
7. supply a report to the management of their area of the training and risk assessments completed, Users still outstanding.
8. assess individual needs based on the answers given on the Risk Assessment
9. arrange in-person or virtual DSE assessments with Users with discomfort issues & write up reports.
10. maintain an Excel spreadsheet of DSE assessments and status progress.
11. regularly run reports on PACE (Cardinus reporting system) on status of completion
12. Monitor auto emails generated by Cardinus and where necessary send approval emails to Users with Manager cc’d.
13. send regular updates to Managers with Cardinus risk-assessments outstanding for their team. Escalate to Senior Managers as and when required.
14. Investigate alternative equipment and chairs for people with discomfort
15. Provide advice to Managers with regard to ergonomics
16. Provide ergonomic advice for office refurbishments and ergonomic equipment in production areas to reduce the likelihood of musculoskeletal injuries
17. Reporting electronically any incidents including near misses on Sphera
18. Responding and acting upon any action assigned on Sphera with regard to ergonomics
19. To analyse ergonomic data available from all sources and use this to formulate ergonomic interventions and improvements
20. Work closely with People, Health & Wellbeing team, passing on referrals as appropriate
21. Maintain accurate notes, electronic records on restricted Sharedrive ensuring that information is managed in accordance with GDPR and patient confidentiality at all times
22. Attend HSE Reps meetings as & when required
23. Advise and partcipate in the business management system document reviews as required
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
24. Proven track record of delivering DSE assessments, improvements and working within a HSE function.
25. DSE Assessor training
26. NEBOSH General as a minimum
27. Formal ergonomic qualification would be an advantage
28. Self-starter/able to work on own initiative
29. Good at working with people at all levels
30. Computer literate, with good understanding of MS Office packages
31. Good analytical skills
32. Resilience, ability to work under pressure
