REPORTING TO: Senior Finance Officer (SFO) and CEO
Overview of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer who has knowledge and understanding of how charity finance works. You will have a genuine understanding of, and commitment to, the aims and values of the GRT and work effectively alongside the SFO to implement the financial policies whilst supporting our dynamic teams.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for preparing financial statements, monthly management accounts, payroll, maintaining accounts payable & receivables, and budget preparation.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining financial and accounting services in order to meet legislative requirements and support GRT operations.
2. Inputting all financial data on QuickBooks Online software.
3. Preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, and managing accounts payable.
4. Uploading pension contributions to the pension provider platform.
5. Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
6. Ensuring accuracy of monthly payroll.
7. Banking cash and cheques received.
8. Maintaining up-to-date financial policies.
9. Reconciling donations received from online gateways (Just Giving, Givebrite, etc.).
10. Reconciling donations received via standing order or direct debits.
11. Administering invoice approval and payment processes.
12. Operating expense claim procedures and payments.
13. Dealing with internal and external customer queries.
14. Producing month-end balance reports and project fund balances.
15. Preparing project payment requests and donor receipts.
16. Handling HMRC matters related to payroll and Gift Aid.
17. Overseeing the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets, ensuring compliance with contractual and financial regulations.
18. Supporting internal and external audits and preparation of the annual budget.
19. Addressing bank inquiries and providing answers.
20. Supporting the SFO in reviewing and appraising relevant policies and procedures.
21. Performing any other duties as may be required from time to time by SFO or CEO.
