An exciting opportunity for a registered mental health staff nurse to join our team on the Low Secure Unit.
Cwm Seren Low Secure Unit is a purpose built 14 bedded Low Secure Unit that provides assessment and treatment for individuals with enduring and complex mental health problems who pose a higher than average risk and covers the catchment area of Hywel Dda.
Care and Treatment is provided through CTP with an emphasis on recovery, providing hope and optimism for the future, evidenced based interventions and psychological therapies.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will deliver a variety of care and treatment interventions and possess good communication skills, demonstrate a willingness to develop in the staff nurse role and be willing to work flexibly within the team.
The successful candidate will have access to regular clinical and managerial supervision.
The role will encompass the patients journey through secure services and the transition work into the community.
The role will support the individual on their journey through the inpatient admission and into the community, with comprehensive transition plans that will require outreach from the ward.
The team consists of Healthcare Support Workers, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, a Peer Mentor, Psychologists, Pharmacists, Doctors and a Consultant Psychiatrist.
