Purpose
To maintain all company plant and equipment in a good and safe working order and ensuring compliance with best practice.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Reporting to Manufacturing Engineer, keep all equipment (e.g. Manufacturing or Plant) compliant with legal requirements and to liaise with insurance inspectors as appropriate.
2. Keep updated all registers and lists pertaining to the aforementioned equipment and plant.
3. Ensure testing of the fire alarms and emergency lighting at appropriate times.
4. Comply with all Health and Safety regulations and be aware of company policy and procedures.
5. Adhere to the environmental policy and be aware of the company procedures regarding emergency preparedness and response.
6. Investigate risks/issues with manufacturing challenges and implement long-term and short-term plans accordingly.
7. Organize planned and scheduled repairs with the Logistics Manager & Chief Maintenance Engineer; Logistics Manager to agree on time frames.
8. Report when repair has been finished to Logistics & Chief Maintenance Engineer.
9. Update and report KPI as agreed in BIC (Best in Class) Meeting.
10. Assist with Development projects with the Development Team (e.g., Oil systems, delivery of oil onto parts, Roller boxes, etc.).
11. As the supervisor of staff, ensure your staff have a planned workload in place for day-to-day duties.
12. Conduct appraisals with your staff, as reported through the appraisal procedure.
Knowledge & Experience Required
Engineering: Press design and construction, fabrication.
Electrical Knowledge: 18th Edition preferred.
Maintenance Engineer: Must keep maintenance records updated, including PPM and breakdown maintenance reports.
