Autism Support Assistants
Multiple support roles available in primary schools across the Tameside and Oldham area. These jobs are available on a full-time and part-time basis, for emergency cover, absences (short-term and long-term) as well as gaps in staffing.
These schools are looking for reliable and energetic individuals to provide support for pupils with additional needs including Autism. It is not essential that you have school experience to be successful! These opportunities may be good for individuals who have a keen interest in child development, disability, psychology, or nursing and are or have been studying something related.
* Start date: December 2024/ January 2025
* Competitive rate £12.90-13.76 per hour
* School experience is not required to be successful in these roles.
The primary schools are looking for additional staff who they can rely on to provide general support as well as being confident to support pupils with ASC. Within these roles, as a support assistant, you will be expected to create positive relationships with the pupils and encourage positive choices and behaviour.
As an ASC Support Assistant, you will be required to:
* Support pupils throughout the school day
* Support pupils across the primary schools
* Incorporate the use of senses into learning
Long-term roles available
* Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm)
* Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis
* Interested in securing a permanent role
Short-term roles available
* Part-time and/or full-time positions (Varied/ ad-hoc days - 8.30am-1.00pm/ 12.00pm- 3.30pm/ 8.30am-3.30pm)
* Would be covering emergency/ scheduled absences
