Services range from detailed design, TTD, dilapidations, pre-acquisition surveys, technical advisory work, and more. They are currently open to an experienced Mechanical Engineer (Building Services) at Senior, Principal, or Associate level. Role
* Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems.
* Preparation and review of documentation, e.g., designs, specifications, assessment reports, survey reports.
* Manage the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house developed tools.
* Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
* Implement detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of the existing installations and gather sufficient information to recommend new/upgrade design proposals.
* Run entire projects from a technical design and client perspective.
* Prepare fee proposals (depending on level).
* Assist with the development of junior engineers.
* Report and technical note writing.
Qualifications / Experience
* Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
* Ideally chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET.
* Minimum 5-10 years experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
* Knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
* Good report writing skills, with experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients.
* Experience managing projects through various RIBA stages.
* Commercial involvement through fee bids, tenders, and management of finances.
* Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and act on own initiative.
* Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as IES thermal modelling package, Microsoft packages, and CAD.
