We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Technician to join our Aerospace & Defence (A&D) team in Dyce, Aberdeen.
The purpose of the position is to perform the full range of Technician duties and services for EthosEnergy A&D. This includes the inspection and repair of all Gas Turbine component parts.
Job Responsibilities
* Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
* Disassembly of all component parts ensuring that route cards are followed and all necessary details recorded in line with quality guidelines.
* Work to route card procedures and if the route card is not clear then seek clarification from direct Line Manager
* Ensure 100% of operations are stamped off on the route card before completion of work.
* Carry out dimensional and visual inspection in accordance with internal documents to include: - Use of measuring equipment such as; Imperial and metric digital Vernier's, external micrometers, depth micrometers etc - Use of magnification devices to identify defects such as cracks, erosion, wear - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and inspection criteria
* Determine repairability of components.
* Complete inspection sheets as and when required.
* Request replacement parts using internal I.T systems.
* Reassembly of all component parts ensuring that route cards are followed and all necessary details recorded in line with quality guidelines.
* Using electrical and or hydraulic test equipment, test components as required.
* Ensure layer 1 audit completed for all test equipment and machinery
* Ensure all test stands and measuring equipment is calibrated
* Complete daily tooling audits
* Ensure that all components are handled and transported in a safe manner.
* Ensure that work area and all work equipment adhere to site HSE requirements.
* Support Storesperson to ensure all replacement parts are identified.
* Assist with other parts of the business as and when required.
* Operate within QHS&E guidelines.
Required Skills / Knowledge
* Demonstrated ability of operating electrical and hydraulic testing equipment.
* Attentive to detail and desire to produce a quality product.
* Responsiveness to business needs.
* Strong communication skills required.
* Proactive attitude and proven ability of working within a team environment.
* MS Office skills desirable, however training will be given.
Experience
* Prior Gas Turbine experience preferential.
* Prior mechanical background & experience a minimum.
Education Requirements
* Mechanical engineering experience essential, preferably from a Gas Turbine background or similar environment.
* Qualified to SVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering desirable.
Physical Requirements
* Manual handling will be required.
* Physical demand of working in a workshop environment.
* Regular working hours between 07:15-15:00
