The Role
As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in driving forward the TalkTalk Business. Your contributions will guide informed pricing decisions that uphold profitability and market competitiveness, all while ensuring our customers remain at the core of our activities.
In this role, you will be responsible for our small business pricing strategy by defining our Recommended Retail Price (RRP) and directing promotional pricing activities, supporting product and proposition launches, and contributing to trading performance reports that inform future pricing strategies. You will also be instrumental in influencing senior stakeholders to optimise our trading strategy.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
* Strategy Execution: Support the formulation, senior approval and system execution of TalkTalk’s pricing strategy.
* Market Analysis: Review and analyse competitor pricing and promotions to optimise TTB Direct market activity and acquire comprehensive market insights.
* Base Management: Assist in the implementation of the Base Management strategy through margin enhancement, product exits and cross-sell initiatives.
* Go-to-Market Support: Play an integral role in go-to-market activities by contributing to new product launches, propositions and promotional initiatives across various segments.
* Price Adjustments: Contribute to pricing increase activities.
* Performance Analysis: Analyse trading results, provide data-driven recommendations and influence senior stakeholders across Operations, Finance and Commercial teams.
* KPI & Elasticity Analysis: Conduct product elasticity testing and key KPI analyses, recommending enhancements to reporting and strategies for trading improvements.
* Customer Insights: Develop insights into customer needs from initial contact through the entire lifecycle, supporting our base management cadence.
* Tariff Management: Develop, approve and maintain standard tariffs and product pricing.
* Portfolio Insights: Gain a comprehensive understanding of TTB’s product portfolio alongside associated commercial segments.
* Commercial Analysis: Perform commercial analyses, including assessments of product profitability and evaluations of bespoke deals.
* Deal Management: Oversee deal sign-offs in accordance with DOAG guidelines.
* Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with the Sales team.
* Sales Partnering: Support sales business partnering by providing product and commercial education, identifying process efficiencies and contributing to capex requirements.
* Billing Collaboration: Serve as a key stakeholder in billing processes.
Skills and experience we are looking for
* Background & Experience: A background around Finance, whether that's studying or working, would be advantageous for this position
* Analytical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with a robust understanding of performance metrics and budgeting.
* Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal abilities and an aptitude for engaging with senior stakeholders.

How you will work

Our aim is for our full time team to spend 3 days a week at our HQ in Soapworks, Salford Quays with the remaining days offering the option to work from home.
