Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
Outward Facing Responsibilities
* Liaise with customers, potential customers and instructors to ascertain the technical requirements for upcoming classes.
* Maintain the z/OS mainframe training environment, ensure it is available as needed, and support instructors in configuring course practicals.
* Create and deploy lab environments – running on Windows, Linux and z/OS – to satisfy the technical requirements of courses.
* Liaise with course delegates to ensure they have access to their course lab environments.
* Troubleshoot and resolve ongoing technical issues with lab environments and delegates’ access to them.
* Assist in signing candidates into and out of exams, where required.
Inward Facing Responsibilities
* Time management and scheduling of the above.
* Backup, store and update created images for future use.
* Effectively support staff with their IT needs and maintain the office IT network.
* Support staff in updating course outlines, scheduled dates and other course details on the company website.
* Attend and contribute to weekly staff meetings.
* Provide support to managers and sales staff to help secure bookings

Your training plan
* Expected duration: 16 months

During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the L3 IT Solutions Technician standard.

Given Verhoef’s role as a technical training company, working in an environment that supports the delivery of in-depth software training across a multitude of platforms and software, the apprentice has an unprecedented exposure to the software used in the corporate world. They will learn to work with a huge variety of different technologies at all levels and will be supported by some of the most capable software trainers in the world.

Other requirements
It is a requirement to have five GCSE 9-4 grades or equivalent (including English and Maths) to apply for this type of apprenticeship. If you do not have these grades but have completed numeracy and literacy Key Skills/Functional Skills at level two you may also apply for these apprenticeships. You must also meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the role: •Have been a UK/EEA resident for the last 3 years •Hold valid residency status •Have the right to work in the UK
