Job Summary
An opportunity for Health care support workers has arisen within Princess of Wales Hospital, Ward 9. Ward 9 is a colorectal, ENT emergency surgery ward; however, we also look after patients from other specialties. We are looking for reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join the team.
The individuals will be required to work under the direction of the registered nurse, ensuring high standards of care are provided and maintained at all times.
Due to ongoing building work, we have temporarily relocated to Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Llantrisant. We plan to return to Princess of Wales this year.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will be caring for patients with a variety of surgical conditions, including pre and post-operative care. You will be responsible for providing care for patients who require assistance with all activities of daily living, including washing, dressing, mobilizing, feeding, and pressure area care.
Successful candidates will also be expected to complete documentation to an acceptable standard and assist in keeping the ward area clean and clutter-free.
The applicants will be expected to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills along with the ability to use their own initiative. Flexibility regarding shift patterns is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
