Perinatal Occupational Therapist
Band 6
Job Overview
The Perinatal Community Mental Health Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will need to have an interest in Perinatal Mental Health, be enthusiastic, caring and a good team player. Some experience of working with women with mental health difficulties and children is preferred, but not essential.
We aim to promote a supportive and therapeutic approach where patients and families are supported by a friendly, skilled and enthusiastic team that enables them to move forwards with their recovery.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be part of a highly motivated and dedicated MDT delivering high quality care to women and their babies, with an emphasis on therapeutic and diverse interventions. We work closely as a multi-disciplinary team and value learning, having regular teaching and supervision with a shared vision.
Experience of working within an acute setting is preferable; however, a full induction programme is provided for the successful applicant. You will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing a high standard of care. A good working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding is essential.
The applicant must have excellent clinical skills, be able to thoroughly assess need and formulate safe and effective management plans, providing specialist knowledge and treatment within an occupational therapy and recovery framework.
Applicants should have a warm and friendly disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills. You must be robust and resourceful and willing to work outside their comfort zone in an environment which can be demanding and stressful.
