Chelmsford City Health PCN have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacy technician to join our Primary Care Network who will be required to travel between the GP practices within our PCN. This role is offered on a full or part-time basis. The purpose of the role is to develop our prescribing systems to maximise safe, effective and efficient prescribing in order to improve the quality of patient care. The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes in general practice, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines. The role will also include supporting the reception and admin teams with complex medication queries. Other regular tasks will involve working with the GPs on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions. About the Candidate The successful candidate must be a qualified and registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and hold a Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services. You will have strong experience in either a community pharmacy or primary care setting and be confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals. You will also have experience of implementing and promoting cost effective strategies. You will have the ability to interpret complex clinical information and present in suitable formats to a variety of people from professional and non-professional backgrounds.
