About the job As a Research & Development Intern, you will work in the Geophysics Research & Development department at our Weybridge, United Kingdom location and contribute to impactful research supporting the energy transition while working on cutting-edge technology involving machine learning. In this role, you’ll learn to develop software that addresses real-world challenges and gain hands-on experience in seismic processing. You'll conduct research, gather data, and participate in problem-solving initiatives, culminating in a presentation of your findings and recommendations to management. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build technical skills, work with innovative technologies, and make a meaningful contribution to critical projects. Minimum Requirements include: • Programming experience (Python, Matlab, ). • Geophysical data experience. • Data analysis experience. • Strong time management, organization, and communication skills. • Self-motivated and eager to learn. • Recent graduate or in the final year of a graduate program (geophysics, physics, mathematics, computer science or related field). Key Program Information: • Students will participate in engaging activities and collaborate closely with a dedicated Mentor and Buddy for guidance and support throughout the program. • The program spans 12–14 weeks during the summer months, offering flexibility within that range. • The majority of opportunities are based at one of our three locations: Houston, TX; Missouri City, TX; or the North Houston Data Center. Limited positions may be available at our global sites, including Oslo, Norway, and Weybridge, United Kingdom. Students interested the intern position must be prepared to relocate independently to the Weybridge, United Kingdom area for the duration of the internship. • Students are required to arrange their own reliable transportation to and from the job site.
