Job Title: Cover Supervisor/ HLTA
Prospero Teaching is working with a SEN/SEMH School that supports students with additional needs and mental health issues. The pupils are aged 11-16 years old, following KS3/4 secondary education, and all have EHCP plans and additional needs. Many have experienced multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences and struggle with mental health and trauma.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Build connections with young people, acting as a mentor and role model.
2. Lead classes and organize tasks throughout the day.
3. Forge strong relationships with pupils to help them engage in the classroom.
4. Utilize mentoring skills (similar to those used in sports, drama, and counseling) to support individual engagement.
5. Support pupils both in and out of the classroom on a vocational basis.
Position Details:
Location: Preston
Start Date: January / ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary (View to Permanency)
Minimum Rate: £100 per day
Hours: 0830 - 1530 (Monday to Friday)
Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in a similar setting (SEMH/PRU).
2. LEVEL 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent and above is preferable.
3. GCSE Maths and English and computer literate.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Hold Right to Work in the UK.
2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
3. Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years.
