About the Role:
As a Customer Collections Specialist, you will be more than just a voice on the phone. You'll be a lifeline for customers struggling with debt, providing empathy, understanding, and practical solutions. Your role will involve:
* Engaging with customers- Collecting cash payments and agreeing on realistic payment plans using effective negotiation techniques.
* Identifying needs- Assessing customers' eligibility for financial assistance schemes and providing the right support.
* Handling diverse situations- Every call and customer interaction will be unique, requiring you to adapt and respond with sensitivity and assertiveness.
* Maximising collections- Using your skills to influence and negotiate with customers who have the means but choose not to pay their bills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction and service.
* Own customer contacts from receipt through to resolution, ensuring all promised actions are completed.
* Accurately update the billing system with all relevant information.
* Investigate customer queries to resolution and collect the cash.
* Adapt your approach to cash collection depending on the customer's point in the collection cycle.
Skills and Experience:
* Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
* Confident, assertive, and proactive when dealing with customers and colleagues.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Tenacity and resilience.
* Proficient in negotiation techniques.
* Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
* Ability to manage your own workload and work under your own initiative.
* Understanding of regulatory rules for handling written and telephone contacts.
* Team player with a high-performance mindset.
Working Hours:
Week 1 Mon - Fri 9-5Week 2: Mon - Fri 10-6 + Sat 8-4 (including rest day)Week 3: Mon - Fri 12-8Week 4: Mon - Fri 8-4
