Rate of Pay: £13.47 - £17.64 per Hour
Summary:
Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council are proud to be working in partnership to deliver an innovative Adolescent Resource Centre (ARC) / Edge of Care Service for young people aged 11-17. This regional service is designed to help young people remain in their family homes by strengthening relationships, offering early intervention, and delivering family-focused, evidence-based support.
As a Support Worker, you'll be part of a flexible and responsive team delivering practical and therapeutic support to young people and families across Cardiff and the Vale. Your work will be key to enabling positive change and reducing the risk of family breakdown.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver evidence-based interventions to support families in building resilience and improving relationships.
2. Work directly with young people and families in their homes and at designated centres.
3. Provide rapid, responsive support to families in crisis, helping prevent escalation to statutory services.
4. Support adolescents who may present with challenging behaviour, offering guidance and structured problem-solving.
5. Collaborate closely with social workers, carers, and multi-agency professionals to coordinate family-focused care plans.
Essential Criteria:
1. Experience working with adolescents who display challenging behaviour.
2. Experience providing family-focused support or working with carers in a professional capacity.
3. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
4. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
5. Full UK driving license and access to a car.
