• To provide personal care and support to every service user with a wide range of needs and abilities
• Undertake the tasks detailed in the Service user’s care and support plans using a person-centered approach, these include:
o Assisting Service users getting up in the morning and going to bed at night
o Assisting Service users to wash, bath and shower
o Assisting Service users to dress and undress
o Assisting Service users to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails
o Assisting Service users with toileting, continence management and personal hygiene
o Assisting Service users with their medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed in their Medication
o Prepare food and drink for the Service user, being aware of the Service user’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs and cultural requirements
o Set tables and trays, serve meals and feed service users who need help.
o Provide light general household domestic duties, including housework and laundry, as detailed in the care plan
o Use manual handling equipment safely and correctly
o Provide companionship to the Service user, actively talking and listening to them about their interests
o Help the Service user to maintain contact with their family and friends
o Accompany the Service user on trips into the community
o Assist the Service user to manage their personal affairs
o Care and support people who are at the end of their life
• Have an in depth understanding of the care and support of each Service user you care for
• Provide input into the care and support plans of Service user by regularly feeding back to Field Supervisor and Care Co-Ordinator’s
