We are looking for a F&B Manager to join a growing company in Reading City Centre. This is a unique opportunity to work with a brand new concept coming to the High Street. We are looking for a Bar & Kitchen Manager to work in a new Family Entertainment Centre open in Reading, featuring a bar and food alongside a fantastic amusement arcade, Karaoke, Pool, Augmented Reality Darts, VR, and much more.
Responsibilities
1. Staff Management
1. Hiring and Training: Recruiting staff, providing training on customer service, bar operations, and safety.
2. Scheduling: Creating staff schedules, ensuring the bar is adequately staffed during peak hours.
3. Supervision: Overseeing the daily work of bartenders, servers, and other staff, providing guidance and support.
2. Customer Service
1. Ensuring Satisfaction: Ensuring customers have a positive experience, handling complaints and feedback efficiently.
2. Promoting a Friendly Atmosphere: Creating a welcoming environment, often interacting with regular patrons to build relationships.
3. Inventory Management
1. Stock Control: Monitoring stock levels of beverages and supplies, ordering new stock as needed.
2. Supplier Relations: Negotiating with suppliers for better deals and managing deliveries.
3. Waste Management: Minimising waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.
4. Budgeting: Managing the F&B budget, controlling costs, and maximizing profits.
5. Pricing: Setting drink prices competitively while ensuring profitability.
4. Health and Safety Compliance
1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the bar complies with local licensing laws, health regulations, and safety standards.
2. Training: Providing staff with training on health and safety practices, including responsible alcohol service.
3. Inspections: Preparing for and managing health and safety inspections.
5. Event Planning and Marketing
1. Promotions: Planning and executing events, promotions, and special offers to attract customers.
2. Social Media Management: Managing the bar’s online presence, including social media and online reviews.
3. Community Engagement: Engaging with the local community, possibly collaborating with other businesses or participating in local events.
6. Operational Management
1. Daily Operations: Ensuring the bar runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis, including opening and closing procedures.
2. Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance of bar and kitchen equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
3. Vendor Relations: Managing relationships with vendors for equipment, supplies, and services.
7. Crisis Management
1. Handling Emergencies: Being prepared to manage emergencies, such as unruly customers, accidents, or equipment failure.
2. Conflict Resolution: Dealing with conflicts between staff or with customers effectively.
8. Reporting
1. Performance Reports: Preparing reports on sales, staff performance, and other key metrics for upper management.
2. Trend Analysis: Monitoring industry trends and customer preferences to keep the bar competitive.
9. Innovation and Improvement
1. Menu Development: Innovating F&B menus, possibly creating signature cocktails, and updating offerings based on trends and customer preferences.
2. Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluating and improving F&B operations, customer service, and overall profitability.
Leading from the front: This is a hands-on role, you will be expected to lead from the front spending time front of house. This is not for you if you like sitting in the office.
