About the role: Location: Stafford Salary: Up to £15.00ph dependent on experience Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 47.5 hours per week The job: You will be part of a two-person team, operating our high specification jetting equipment and vacuumation units. Work Projects, will include any drainage related issues, including blockage clearance, pipe cleansing programmes and emergency reactive works. Although you start at the depot, you will be mobile attending to all work activities, within various work sectors, including industrial, rail, utility, commercial, residential. Travelling in your vehicle you will be covering jobs throughout the region which can involve travel times added in addition. About you: You will already be familiar with high pressure jetting equipment and / or drainage networks, you will be required to hold an HGV Class 2 licence, with no more than 3 penalty points ideally. A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is desirable. You can become a successful Utilities Waste-Water Technician if you have problem-solving, listening, critical thinking, teamworking abilities and a customer focussed approach. Also, as you need to operate machinery, excellent hand-eye coordination and concentration are essential skills. The following skills are also essential: A driving licence with no more than 6 points An in date CSCS would be advantageous – however this could be obtained is necessary Valid CPC (desirable) Drainage experience To work in the Utilities industry, you may have to compete with inclement weather outdoors. Protective clothing such as a hi-vis jacket, boots, and a helmet are mandatory requirements, and you may be asked to travel to different sites. The workday starts early, especially during the summer, when there is light in the morning but drains can be blocked at any hour of the day and emergency assistant can often be needed. You will be expected to comply with all Group Health Safety and Environmental compliance, full Training with be provided as part of a Group Induction Training package which will include high pressure jetting course, confined space, manual handling, first aid and other relevant courses to obtain certification.
