Your Role
EF Oxford Summer School is seeking a responsible and energetic individual to join our Residence Team for summer 2025. As Residence Night Advisor, you’ll play a vital part in creating a safe, welcoming, and memorable living environment for our international students, helping them feel at home while they explore a new country and culture. Roles run from June/July – August 2025 on a full-time, fixed term basis, with potential for permanent employment post summer.
Responsibilities
* A constant presence at the student reception during the afternoon into the evening based at our sole residence
* Carry out the lead role on nightly curfew checks
* Ensure the smooth running of administration tasks relating to residence work such as preparing arrival information, organising keys, and handling student queries
* Follow up on attendance and welfare checks throughout the day in accordance with EF’s Safeguarding and Missing Student policies
* Deal directly with residence suppliers to solve issues that may arise such as student lock-outs, or report maintenance issues to the supplier as required or directed by students and their leaders
* Ensure standards of rooms and quality of services are maintained by conducting weekly building and room checks
* Provide the highest level of customer service at all times
* Liaise with external suppliers where cleaning/maintenance issues are reported
* Ensure allocation information sent to residence suppliers is accurate and on time
* Assist with arrival & departure documents and preparation of keys for all arrivals
* Ensure access to basic cleaning materials, spare bedding, and be ready to do essential emergency cleaning if required for unexpected arrivals
* Follow up any disciplinary issues together with the Summer Residence Manager and ensure sanctions are applied in line with EF’s residence rules and regulations
* Share emergency duty on a rota basis
Requirements
* Given the on-call nature of the position, a flexible, hands-on approach to nature & hours of work undertaken is essential
* Highly motivated, energetic, and positive
* Customer service orientated, friendly & approachable manner
* Able to remain calm under pressure & to diffuse potentially difficult situations
* Sensitive to the needs of international students living away from home
* Excellent communicator with students, colleagues, and external clients
* Attention to detail, organised & thorough
* All offers are subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and two references
* Legally able to work in the UK at commencement of employment
* This is a live-in position where accommodation and full board are provided at no extra cost, there are some residential requirements attached to this
