Within the UK Risk Division, the Provisions & Forecasting team is responsible for estimating credit loss reserves and forecasting future credit losses over a range of different scenarios and time horizons.
The team is responsible for the maintenance and execution of the full suite of credit impairment models as well as DoD engines and plays a key role in the determination of credit loss budgets and provides the credit loss projections used in internal and external stress testing exercises including those requested by regulatory authorities.
The Role:
1. Support in overseeing model implementation to produce model output, on-going maintenance of models, change process and implementation of new models.
2. Support in development of analytics dashboard, monitoring (such as DoD Monitoring) and MI reports (such as forbearance MI).
3. Active engagement with other risk areas such as forecasting, portfolio management, collections, etc.
4. Support in tracking the DoD changes resulting from onsite inspections, internal and external audit feedback, data migrations, to name a few.
5. Support in preparing materials and presenting results to governance forum/committees.
6. Regular engagement with external auditors to support the successful completion of half-year and year-end audits.
7. Support internal audit activities and closing internal validation points.
8. Support in review and challenge of the next generation credit risk provisioning models.
9. Support in keeping process documentation up to date with model changes.
10. Deputising for the Manager.
The Candidate:
1. Knowledge of current local market dynamics, key players and their strategies, and current market pressures that will have a bearing on their own area of responsibility.
2. Good understanding of forbearance activities and strategies.
3. Good understanding of risk management regulation and guidelines on loss reserve methodologies and relevant accounting standards.
4. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
6. Relevant academic qualification.
7. Recognised professional certification.
