The hospital also provides acute and psychiatric intensive care, medium and low secure services, and a community focused rehabilitation ward. A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Practitioner Psychologist to join the friendly and supportive psychology team based at Kneesworth House Hospital. The team consists of experienced qualified psychologists, trainee and assistant psychologists, art therapists and a positive behaviour practitioner. Our psychologists work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. Our department has a strong ethos on the importance of supervision, providing regular opportunities for both individual and peer supervision. There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service, and funded and accredited training opportunities will be available and agreed as part of the role (subject to completion of a probationary period). Attendance at national conferences and research interests are also encouraged. The role includes: HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist to provide psychological services to adults. Salary: £48,250 - £58,250 (Dependent on Experience) Full Time: 37.5 hours a week (part time and job share will also be considered). Joining our Service: The successful candidate joining our service will be expected to provide: A specialist service to people with a mental disorder through developing psychological formulations and assessments, and formulating plans for their psychological treatments. Working alongside colleagues, the candidate will offer specialist psychological assessments, formulations and brief interventions, as per NICE and best practice guidelines. To provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals to include members of the multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To provide supervision to assistant and trainee psychologists as required. Essential Requirements Candidates will have completed a Postgraduate qualification in clinical, forensic or counselling Psychology and be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). We welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists. The successful candidate will be familiar with working through a trauma informed lens to understand what has happened in the life of the individual and to use evidence based interventions to alleviate distress. They will be experienced in working with people with complex mental health needs, where severe interpersonal difficulties are part of their presentation. Preferable Experience of working with people with psychosis and and experience in at least one therapeutic modality. Experience of working in an acute mental health setting.
