Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Engineer Salary: Up to £22 per hour DOE Contract Type: 2 month contract - Potentially permanent for the right candidate Primary purpose: Our client based in Haverhill, Suffolk is looking for an Electro-Mechanical Engineer on a 2-month contract to undertake maintenance work to ensure the prompt recovery of machine breakdowns and the timely completion of PPM’s. The suitable candidate will also deputise for the maintenance manager in their absence and also report to the Maintenance Manager. You will provide guidance to other team members in the effective day to day running of the maintenance team. You will become the ‘go to’ person for maintenance queries in the absence of the Manager and developing excellent working relationships across the site. Key responsibilities: Support and promote a culture of safety awareness and safe working - ensuring that all accidents and near misses are reported. Ensure all tickets are resolved satisfactorily, and to the Quality/timescale required. Provide out of hours call out cover. Core Accountabilities: Maintain guardian electrical compliance with any electrical modifications and remedial work. Produce minor works certificates and installation documents. Keep track of spares and ensure sufficient stock issue PO requisitions. Monitor the maintenance requests inbox. Issue work permits as required for contractors. Collaborative Accountabilities: Train new employees in the maintenance department. Liaise with other department heads to carry out maintenance activities. Carry out PPM on a variety of electrically driven manufacturing plant and machinery. Amend PPM schedules using technical files, manuals, and own knowledge and experience. Train machine setters or operators in Autonomous Maintenance tasks Work on compressed air and cooling systems. Provide holiday cover for the maintenance manager. Machine installation and commissioning. De-Commissioning machines. Assist with facilities and electrical work. Assist with contractor supervision. Recording work on the CMMS system. Knowledge, skills and experience required: Qualified 18th edition IET wiring regulations At least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role Strong knowledge of single and 3 – phase power and control systems Able to work unsupervised Must demonstrate a safe and logical approach to fault finding.
