We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Planning Policy Manager to lead our planning policy and environmental planning team.
With 12 miles of scenic Lancashire coastline, between the rivers Ribble and Wyre, Fylde Borough offers an attractive mix of open countryside, small rural villages, and traditional seaside towns. As the borough is also home to several high-value employers, this post will offer ample opportunity to test and challenge your planning skills.
The council is dedicated to delivering a high-quality customer-focused planning policy service and this key role will allow the successful candidate to make an important contribution to developing the local economy and shaping the built, rural, and coastal environment of the borough.
We are looking for someone who has:
* A degree in planning or a related field and membership (or eligibility for membership) of a professional body such as RTPI or RICS
* At least 5 years’ experience in planning policy
* Experience of managing teams, attending Planning Committees, and presenting evidence at public inquiries
* Excellent knowledge of planning policy and guidance, along with strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
