We are recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Dover, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children who have special educational needs, providing one-on-one and small group support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO. Your role will be vital in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, helping students achieve their full potential and fostering their independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting individual children with SEN on a one-to-one basis as well as within small groups.
Assisting the teacher in planning and implementing tailored learning activities.
Creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for SEN pupils.
Monitoring and recording students' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Assisting with behavioural management in line with the school's policies and best practices.
Requirements
Experience working with children within an SEN setting.
A genuine passion for working with primary-aged children and helping them succeed.
Patience, resilience, and a caring approach towards supporting students' educational and emotional needs.
Knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and experience with students on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, or with other learning challenges, is advantageous.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
