Job summary The C&W hospital has a strong Endoscopy service. The team is led by Endoscopy Lead Nurse and Consultant Clinical Lead who work alongside the clinical and management teams. Our Endoscopy is JAG accredited with up to date modern equipment and friendly staff. There is strong multi-disciplinary working and close links with other providers. We provide a range of gastrointestinal procedures in 4 well equipped endoscopy rooms. We run 5 day service including out of hours support to the Gastroenterology team for gastrointestinal bleeds. To prepare the suction box daily Scheduling endoscopy appointments on Cerner especially the interventional procedures etc. Ensure all admission cubicles are stocked with linen, dignity shorts and cannulation kits. Undergo cannulation training and be able to cannulate the patients undergoing Endoscopic procedures under the instruction of a Registered Nurse. Ensure all prep rooms and linen corners have linen bags. Ensure every patient that comes to the recovery bay have their names written on the bed board and wiped off when they are transferred to discharged lounge. Offer patients refreshments at the discharged lounge if required Ensure biscuits and tea is available in the discharged lounge.
