PURPOSE
Legal Entity Reporting to support the month-end close for key entities and contributing to the external reporting process. This role presents an ideal opportunity for the candidate to develop a wide range of core accounting, reporting, and control skills. By the nature of the job, the candidate will also be able to develop a key overall understanding of the Capital Markets businesses and how each operates within the legal entity framework.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support month-end/quarter-end close processes which include monitoring controls and accounts, processing journals, reconciliations, analytical review, and preparation of monthly and quarterly MIS.
2. Preparation of analytical reviews of month-end results. Ensure that the results are well understood by business finance counterparts.
3. Monthly and quarterly head office reporting using trade and subledger data.
4. Liaison with external and internal auditors as required.
5. Monthly UK attestation and control of ledger balances.
6. Investigation and resolution of breaks and issues within the legal entities.
7. Ensure adequate documentation of processes and procedures are maintained.
8. Ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
9. Provide cover across the team when required.

This position supports the key functions listed under primary responsibilities. Approval authority is not attached to this position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Professional accountancy qualification.
2. University degree.
3. Big 4 experience preferable.
4. Legal Entity or Financial Control experience within a Bank (either Capital Markets or Treasury).
5. Understanding of regulation within a Banking environment.
6. SOX audit knowledge.
7. Past working experience on relevant systems i.e., Peoplesoft, TM1.
8. Experience in problem-solving Financial Control issues.
9. Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
