Hub Health & Safety Manager Job Purpose
To implement and analyse practical measures that protect the organisation, its employees, and customers from health, safety, environmental, and quality issues. The post holder will be a subject matter expert in relevant legislation, mandatory processes (such as ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards), and the company risk register, advising business stakeholders and their teams on the deployment of procedures and best practises to ensure total compliance with HSE legislation and all other aspects of HSEQ.
You will be accountable for:
1. Defining, collecting, and monitoring lead and lag data through periodic audits that report performance, compliance, and overall effectiveness across all Hubs.
2. Dealing with accident and near-miss events through investigatory interventions and ensuring timely preventative measures are applied.
3. Supporting, advising & practically promoting HSEQ to all colleagues across the Hub network involved in the parcel journey & the interdependencies between Hub, Depot, Delivery & Head office.
4. Providing advice to relevant stakeholders on the design and implementation of suitable risk management systems (general and task-specific assessments) as a trusted advisor in the selection of the correct control measures.
5. Ensuring the correct proportion of trained persons for First Aid, Defibrillator, Fire Marshals, and Spill Control authorized persons by site.
6. Completion of secondary significant accident (all lost time) follow-up investigations, imposing clear & precise corrective measures to ensure reduction of re-occurrence.
7. Leading an effective review of HSE related liability claims, ensuring prompt information exchange, linked conversation between insurers & Evri responsible person.
8. Influencing, contributing, and participating in all mandatory communication rhythm & routines (daily, weekly, monthly forums) including active participation in the monthly site HSEQ committee meetings, local & UK insight commentary.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
1. Minimum 2 years in an operational role including HSEQ responsibilities – essential.
2. NEBOSH Certificate qualifications – essential.
3. Strong numeracy and literacy skills – essential.
4. MH train the trainer – preferred.
5. RTITB FLT train the trainer – preferred.
