Currently based in Stonehouse, the Company has grown over the past 10 years and during 2025 will be moving to a larger and improved production facility in Gloucester. The Engineering Buyer is responsible for ensuring materials are sourced and purchased to the required specification having regard for quality, delivery, price and other contractual conditions. For this role you will need to have an Engineering Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience along with a procurement qualification. You will also need to be an experienced buyer with extensive practical experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering environment. The main duties of the role are: • To provide cost effective and strategic sourcing focus, not only on price, but on total cost of acquisition and added value • Review supplier product designs, processes, and activities for compliance with company manufacturing guidelines, quality processes, and standards • Consult with engineering team to establish performance criteria and specifications for suppliers • Source and investigate potential suppliers and recommend suitable ones for projects or existing products • Submit drawings and/or technical specifications to suppliers and ensure that quotations are received on time • Negotiate prices and terms and conditions of purchase • Responsible for project inventory management including total cost analysis • Work with key suppliers to help improve their performance, competitiveness and capabilities • Responsible for the coordination of project materials flows, storage and distribution in accordance with company policies and procedures • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken with all supplier relationships.
