About the role:
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for negotiating, implementing & managing supplier agreements that strengthen the JFD supply chain. The role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to support the overall goals of the organization.
Your key responsibilities will also include:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
2. Manage supplier relationships, including evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance against those contracts.
3. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and standards.
4. Monitor and evaluate the performance of procurement activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
5. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient procurement operations.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
7. Conduct regular audits of procurement processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
What do you need?
A solid grasp of the processes and tasks involved in procurement is essential with strong experience in contract and commercial negotiation, skilled at analysis and presentation, with a finely tuned attention to detail.
Adept at problem solving, willing to take responsibility and is organised and methodical in their approach.
Proven ability to deal with key suppliers, build relationships and communicate effectively.
CIPS qualification desirable although not necessary.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations is crucial to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
Understanding the tools and materials commonly used in procurement helps in performing tasks efficiently.
Experience in a related position is preferred to ensure the candidate is familiar with the responsibilities and challenges of the job.
Effective communication with the procurement team and other departments is essential along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise is important.
Flexibility to work both autonomously and collaboratively is required.
