Key accountabilities Take on the responsibilities of the 8(1)(c). Supply stone in sufficient quantity and of sufficient quality to meet the needs of cement production at the works. Ensure the tasks of the team are carried out safely, in accordance with site safety procedures (SWP’S, Risk Assessments, SAFE Talks, etc). Encourage the reporting of near hits and incidents. Participate in safe walks, safe checks, safe inspections etc. Respond and report any breaches of Environmental standards. Encourage the awareness of the implications of the teams actions on the safety of others and the quality of the product. Organise the priorities of the team in the light of changing circumstances Seek advise or assistance from others where appropriate, in meeting objectives. Actively assist other departments where appropriate. Job dimensions lead and manage the quarry team. Accurately record information with regarding to production and quality which include quality spreadsheets, geotechnical assessments, hourly tonnages, monthly reports, and safety data. Liaise with other departments/contractors and members of the public. Job requirements To have or be capable of reaching, a through understanding of the raw material process giving an appreciation of the implications on safety, environment and quality due to the actions of the team. To have successful experience (or potential) of leading a process team. To demonstrate skills in numeracy literacy and computing skills (ms office). Heavy plant competence. Valid driving licence Education/Qualification Hold a SHE Quarry Management NVQ level 4 Minimum of NVQ level 2 for driving three pieces of machinery Blast Design and shot firer NVQ’S DAPS qualification desirable As the holder of a Regulation 8 position under the Quarry Regs proof of competence by professional development will be required.
