Job Summary The Firmware Release Manager is a member of the Product Development team whose primary responsibilities include coordinating firmware development teams for product releases, improving automated test infrastructure, monitoring results of the automated regression tests. Work Location : In Office (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change) City : Surrey Type : full-time, Permanent Salary : $95,000 - $119,000 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Establish and maintain the release process and cadence for a common release platform Ensure that release processes are followed and that all software releases are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards Run and review results of automation regression test systems Maintain and develop the automated test infrastructure to enhance coverage and optimize test cycles. Develop and maintain release metrics, dashboards, and reports to track and communicate release status and progress to stakeholders Coordinate and lead release planning, including identification of risks, dependencies, mitigation strategies and infrastructure updates Facilitate communication between different teams to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment on release schedules and requirements Work with the development and QA teams to ensure that appropriate testing is conducted on integration and releases Collaborate with project managers to ensure that project timelines and milestones are aligned with release schedules Defining best practices for software releases. Includes product versioning, integration workflows, etc. Grow and develop a team to handle a growing number of products using the release platform Authority The Release Manager has the authority to: Sign-off on product release gates Reject feature integration that do not meet quality standards Escalate issues to the appropriate development team for resolution Required or strongly preferred skills and abilities Strong technical communication and writing skills Team player and strong interpersonal skills Ability to mentor and train employees Knowledge of SDLC, application architecture, deployment, infrastructure, and operational issues Minimum Qualifications: College diploma or University degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering or equivalent 3 years of experience as a Release Manager or related role Experience in Embedded devices Experience with TCP/IP networks Basic electronics experience Experience with software or firmware development processes, methodologies and tools Experience with Linux administration Experience in one or more scripting languages. Python, PHP, Bash etc. Experience in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and Deployment) process tools like Virtual Machines, Containers, Jenkins (CI), Maven, Nexus, SVN and Git Why work for us?
