You will lead the operational service delivery of the Be U Swindon Hubs & Haven team and service. This role will include working with CYP emotional needs across all elements of the iTHRIVE model. This exciting new service will deliver a range of interventions to CYP (children and young people) at various stages of their emotional recovery and safety needs. Working as part of the Be U Swindon Community Senior Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of this day, evening, and weekend provision, working on a rotational basis.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will play a critical role in the mobilisation and development of the service and in the day-to-day delivery of effective mental and emotional well-being support to CYP within our community. This position involves providing direct urgent mental health services, collaborating with families, emergency services, CAMHS, schools, and community organisations, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for young people.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties and responsibilities:
1. To provide managerial supervision, oversight of work schedules, and allocation of resources to the Hubs team ensuring the team is trained and fit for purpose.
2. To manage the projects devolved budget.
3. To coordinate the team rota.
4. To assist in recruitment in adherence to the keeping children safe in education framework.
5. To strategically promote the service to ensure system partners are aware of our offer and KPI requirements are delivered.
6. Liaise with key stakeholders to collaborate, maintain positive, cohesive relationships, and avoid system duplication.
7. Support routine internal governance audits and respond to any identified actions/improvements ensuring the team are confident in maintaining accurate records.
8. To offer creative input and participation in promoting our services across social media platforms and the raising of resources that support effective interventions.
9. To nurture links with other CYP agencies and services and have a good understanding of local services for signposting and onward referrals.
10. Lead in managing any potential safeguarding concerns through school consultation and MASH liaison. Manage risk and recognise and pro-actively respond to child protection and safeguarding issues.
11. Support the evolution of service delivery and resources to adapt and flex to local demands.
12. Provide on call support.
Haven (Evening service) In this part of the role, you will lead the delivery of the service in providing direct urgent emotional support to CYP presenting significant critical safety needs and behaviours that challenge. After initial contact with one of our identified urgent/emergency service referral partners, the Haven service provides immediate intervention.
This service supports CYP through highly targeted interventions with immediate care needs within the Getting risk support / Getting more help elements of the iTHRIVE model.
To conduct and support a team to:
1. Independently conduct rapid assessment of referred CYP against service inclusion/exclusion criteria in liaison with Police, Ambulance, ED, and CAMHS, collaborating with these services to agree and coordinate ongoing safety on acceptance to service.
2. Implement immediate mood regulation interventions and emotional support for CYP experiencing urgent mental health issues.
3. Conduct rapid risk assessments and agree necessary collaborative interventions with referral partners to identify the severity of mental health need, mitigate identified risks, and develop appropriate, effective urgent high-need safety plans.
4. De-escalate and compassionately manage presenting CYPs potential behaviours that challenge.
5. Report any identified safeguarding concerns of CYP and coordinate necessary actions to mitigate any immediate risks to self/others.
6. Liaise with Caregivers and referral partners to ensure ongoing immediate safety of CYP post-intervention and coordinate a safe return to home residence or work with partners to identify safe emergency accommodation.
7. Develop and implement follow-up care plans, including referrals to appropriate mental health services (internal Be U Swindon & external service offers).
8. Offer guidance and support to families and caregivers, helping them understand and effectively respond to the mental health needs of their children.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring all interventions and plans are thoroughly documented.
10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mental health care.
Hubs (Day services) In this part of the role, you will lead the delivery of emotional support to CYP in community settings including education settings, community centres, and Be U therapeutic spaces.
This service supports CYP presenting with care needs within Getting Advice / Getting Help elements of the iTHRIVE model.
To conduct and support a team to:
1. Develop individualised care plans based on assessments, considering the unique needs and circumstances of each child.
2. Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapeutic interventions to CYP.
3. Engage with children in various settings, including schools and community centres.
4. Work closely with families as appropriate to offer guidance, education, and support in managing their child's mental health challenges.
5. Provide training and resources to parents and caregivers to help them understand and address their child's mental health needs effectively.
6. Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, social services, and other community organisations to coordinate care and ensure a system-led, holistic approach to each child's well-being.
7. Advocate for the mental health needs of children and adolescents within the community, promoting awareness and reducing stigma.
8. Respond to identified safeguarding concerns, providing immediate support and intervention to children and families in need.
9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
10. Stay current with developments in child and adolescent mental health, attending training sessions, workshops, and conferences as needed.
11. Participate in regular supervision and peer support meetings to ensure best practices and continuous professional growth.
12. Engage with local communities to raise awareness about mental health issues and available support services for children and young people.
